Job Description:
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Engineer for a 6-month contract based in Newport. This role is working on an industrial shed/unit development project and requires a strong background in setting out and heavy groundwork operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out accurate setting out for industrial unit construction
- Overseeing and coordinating piling works
- Managing and supervising site engineering activities
- Ensuring all works are completed in line with project specifications and health & safety standards
- Liaising with site management, subcontractors, and design teams
- Maintaining site records, QA documentation, and reports
- Supporting delivery of the project to programme and quality standards
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Senior Engineer on industrial or commercial projects
- Strong setting out experience is essential
- Previous experience with piling works
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Proficient with surveying equipment (e.g., total stations, GPS)
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- CSCS card (essential)
- SMSTS or SSSTS (preferred)
