We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Shop Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing excellent customer service, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring the shop operates smoothly. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases.
- Preparation of hot and cold sandwiches, including use of the grill,
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations and upsell products to enhance customer experience.
- Assist in food preparation, ensuring all items are prepared according to food safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and shop area.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, utilising basic maths skills for billing purposes.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service during busy periods.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management as needed.
- Opening the shop on occaision, including Saturday mornings.
Skills
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour.
- Experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is advantageous.
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions and inventory counts.
- Knowledge of food safety practices to ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively during peak hours.
- A passion for culinary arts and willingness to learn new techniques in food preparation.
Hours will be circa 15 per week, over 2-3 days, potentially more to cover any absences, there will be a need for 6am starts at least once per week but an earlier finish. At present it would be 8-2 Monday and Friday as a minimum, with extra hours and responsibility for the right person. Prettymuch immediate start too….
