Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our caring team at St Anne’s Nursing Home in Southampton. This role is vital in supporting our mission to deliver high-quality, personalised care through excellent meal and food service. The Kitchen Assistant will contribute to maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen environment while assisting with meal preparation.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and serving of meals to residents in accordance with dietary requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area.
- Support the kitchen team with food safety procedures.
- Ensure all food is stored correctly and safely.
- Help with basic food preparation tasks as directed.
- Support the team during meal times to ensure smooth service.
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in catering, cooking, or kitchen environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of modified diets and IDDSI .
- Knowledge of food safety standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions carefully.
- A friendly and caring attitude towards residents and colleagues.
- Flexibility to support various tasks as needed.
- Basic food preparation skills.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £12.21-£14.00 per hour
