Hygiene Group Ltd. carries out cleaning for the food, drinks, pharmaceutical and associated industries.
We now have a great opportunity for an individual with a keen eye for detail to become part of an experienced, dedicated and friendly cleaning team working on the Estover Industrial Estate at a major confectionery company.
The Role
Reporting to the Manufacturing Team Leader & working in a small team on the afternoon shift, the Hygiene Operative role is to carry out a variety of cleaning duties to ensure that all areas of the site are maintained to stringent hygiene standards.
- Shift: 4 on/2 off (average 39.75 hours per week)
- Hours: 14.00 - 23.00 hours
- Rate: £13.88 per hour
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Floor cleaning (vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, use of floor scrubber/dryer, etc.);
- Stair cleaning;
- Cleaning of toilets, washrooms & changing areas;
- Cleaning of shoe-cleaning machines;
- Checking laundry & removing anything left in pockets (e.g. pens, tools, etc.)
Key responsibilities are to:
- Perform a variety of cleaning and hygiene tasks as detailed within the cleaning instruction procedures;
- Ensure all activities are carried out and signed-off in accordance with hygiene, quality and safety standards;
- Be responsible for ensuring that waste material is correctly disposed of in accordance with the client’s environmental systems;
- Be responsible for alerting line management to any issues that may impact upon the integrity of the cleaning;
- Participate in mandatory site training relating to health & safety, hygiene and environmental issues.
Along with a high standard of work ethics you will also require:

Previous experience in cleaning and/or a food manufacturing environment is a definite advantage but not essential as full training will be provided along with uniform and protective clothing.
