Control Room Operative – Breakdown Recovery
NWVA is seeking Control Room Operatives to manage vehicle breakdown recovery operations in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Due to continued business expansion, we are looking for dedicated and experienced individuals to join our team at our new Brentwood location.
Location: Brentwood (Office Based)
Hours: Monday to Friday (no weekends) 6-hour fixed shift pattern, on one of the following shifts:
3pm-9pm
4pm-10pm
5pm-11pm
(Please note that once a shift time has been confirmed, it will become your contractual shift pattern and will not be subject to change.)

Key Responsibilities
- Receiving and assessing vehicle breakdown calls
- Dispatching and coordinating recovery vehicles efficiently
- Maintaining clear and professional communication with drivers, customers, and partner agencies
- Monitoring live jobs and providing accurate updates
- Booking and administering jobs within our workflow management software
- Ensuring all operations comply with safety and regulatory requirements
- Invoicing
- Producing reports and completing general administrative duties
About You
- Previous experience in a control room, call centre, logistics, or similar environment desirable but not essential
- Customer service experience essential
- A confident decision-maker who performs well under pressure
- Professional, empathetic, and confident telephone manner
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly customer-focused with excellent attention to detail
- Strong IT skills, with proficiency in Microsoft applications
- Ability to multitask, prioritise workload, and remain calm in a fast-paced environment
- A strong team player
- You must have a clean DBS and a willingness to undergo enhanced security vetting
