Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Yard/Warehouse Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting warehouse operations, handling materials, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods within the yard and storage facilities. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience and mechanical knowledge to develop their skills in a dynamic environment. The position involves physical tasks, including heavy lifting, and requires adherence to safety standards at all times.
Duties
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse machinery safely and efficiently to load, unload, and move goods.
- Manage stock levels using Warehouse Management System (WMS) software such as SAP, ensuring accurate inventory records.
- Handle materials with care, including loading and unloading lorries, stacking stock, and organising storage areas.
- Assist with picking and packing orders for dispatch, ensuring correct items are prepared for shipment.
- Support shipping and receiving processes by coordinating deliveries and verifying incoming goods against documentation.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in line with health and safety regulations.
- Support maintenance tasks within the yard as required.
Skills
- Proven experience operating forklifts; certification is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems such as SAP or similar platforms.
- Strong materials handling skills with the ability to lift heavy loads safely.
- Previous warehouse experience, including stocking, picking & packing, shipping & receiving.
- Knowledge or experience in production environments is desirable.
- Ability to work efficiently in a physically demanding role with attention to safety standards.
- Good organisational skills with the capacity to manage stock levels accurately.

Must hold a Full Drivers License and a in date FLT certificate.
Shift pattern - 6am - 2pm, 8am - 4pm and 2pm -10pm
Starting rate for the role is £13.37, after successful probation rate will go up to £13.70.
During the probation period there is the ability to gain bonus's after meeting KPI's
Pay: £13.37-£13.70 per hour
