Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable Material Handler to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities
- Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment, including forklifts and manual handling techniques
- Operate warehouse management systems to track inventory levels and update records accurately
- Handle materials safely, ensuring proper storage and organisation within designated areas
- Assist in shipping and receiving processes, preparing items for dispatch or receipt
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and materials to identify potential issues or damages
- Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow and maintain a clean, safe working environment
- Support in inventory counts and stock replenishment activities as required
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently during all handling procedures
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse operations or materials handling is preferred
- Valid forklift licence and experience operating forklift machinery safely
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar software applications
- Mechanical knowledge beneficial for troubleshooting equipment issues
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently over extended periods
- Construction experience advantageous for understanding material specifications and handling techniques
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for accurate record keeping
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills to coordinate effectively within a busy environment
