About AXA:
AXA is a global leader in insurance and financial services, dedicated to helping customers protect what matters most to them. As the sixth-largest insurance company in the world, we provide a wide range of services, including health, car, home, and business insurance. We support millions of customers worldwide, helping them navigate life's uncertainties with confidence.
AXA UK Support Functions look after our three customer-facing business units, providing the infrastructure and expertise to make sure we can be there for our customers.
Job overview:
As part of the Internal Communications Leadership Team, you’ll play a key role in redefining the role and impact of Internal Communications across AXA UK&I. You’ll help us move from a predominantly delivery-focussed model to a more strategic, integrated, and impactful approach, focussed on engaging and mobilising colleagues behind the ambitions we share across the organisation as one AXA. As the internal communication lead for one of our business units, you’ll partner closely with its CEO and their senior leadership team to shape communication strategy, elevate the quality and impact of communications, and drive engagement behind their priorities, while connecting business unit goals to the bigger picture.
Key responsibilities:
- Act as the senior internal communications advisor to a specific AXA business unit and its senior leadership team.
-
Build and maintain deep understanding of the business unit’s strategy, performance, external environment and operational context.
-
Translate business unit objectives into clear, purposeful and audience-led internal communication strategies.
-
Enable senior leaders to deliver visible, high-quality and authentic two-way engagement with their teams.
-
Contribute to the ongoing development, maturity and effectiveness of the internal communications business partnering approach.
-
Play a leadership role in driving a step change in the impact, quality, and coordination of all internal communications across AXA UK&I.
-
Develop and own a rolling, insight-led communication and engagement roadmap aligned to business unit plans and organisational priorities.
Work arrangements:
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means attending the office, visiting clients or attending industry events. We’re also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.
Your skills & experience:
- Significant experience in a senior internal communications business partnering role advising senior leaders within complex, matrixed organisations is essential.
-
Strong team player with a track record of contributing beyond your own remit to drive the success of the wider function.
-
Commercial acumen and ability to align communication to business performance and transformation outcomes.
-
Proven track record of developing long-term, forward plans and proactive internal communication strategies.
-
Advanced stakeholder management, influencing and consultancy skills. Clear understanding of organisation dynamics, engagement and culture.
-
Experience shaping and overseeing the delivery of leadership communication and large scale engagement activity.
-
Highly developed planning, prioritisation and decision making capability.
-
High levels of credibility, judgement and political awareness.
