D&S Haulage is a growing transport and logistics company operating a fleet of HGVs and trailers throughout the South East and nationwide.
We are looking for a skilled and experienced HGV Mechanic to join our workshop team in Gravesend. This is a varied role suited to someone who takes pride in maintaining vehicles to the highest standards of safety, reliability and compliance.
Main Responsibilities
- Servicing and routine maintenance of HGVs and trailers
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults
- MOT preparation and presentation
- Vehicle inspections and safety checks
- Defect diagnosis and resolution
- Emergency roadside breakdown call-outs
- Tyre fitting, repairs and replacements
- Trailer repairs and maintenance
- Completion of workshop paperwork and maintenance records
- Ensuring all vehicles remain roadworthy and compliant with DVSA requirements
What We're Looking ForEssential
- Previous experience as an HGV Mechanic or HGV Technician
Desirable
- Class 1 (CE) licence
- IRTEC qualification
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Previous roadside breakdown experience
- Experience with diagnostic software
Licence/Certification:
- UK Driving Licence (required)
- Class 1 Licence (preferred)
