Zen Educate is recruiting passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join one of our partner secondary schools in Newcastle. This is a full-time opportunity supporting young people with additional learning needs in a welcoming and supportive educational environment.
The school provides smaller class sizes than mainstream settings, allowing staff to build meaningful relationships with pupils and provide tailored support to help them thrive both academically and personally.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support secondary-aged students with additional educational needs.
- Work closely with teachers to deliver engaging lessons and personalised learning.
- Provide one-to-one and small group intervention sessions.
- Encourage positive behaviour and promote independence.
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
What We're Looking For
We'd love to hear from candidates who:
- Have experience working with children or young people, particularly those with additional needs (school, care, youth work, coaching or similar).
- Are patient, caring, and resilient.
- Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Are committed to making a positive difference in young people's lives.
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or are willing to obtain one.
