Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant/Housekeeper to support our culinary and housekeeping operations. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment while assisting with meal preparation and food safety standards. Duties
- Assist with food preparation and meal assembly, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards
- Support catering services by preparing ingredients and setting up serving areas
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen and dining areas in accordance with food safety regulations
- Help with general housekeeping duties, including cleaning surfaces, utensils, and equipment
- Ensure proper storage of food items and adherence to hygiene protocols
- Assist in serving meals to residents as required
- Support the team during busy service periods, ensuring smooth operation of the kitchen and dining areas
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to prevent accidents or contamination
Skills
- Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Ability to assist with meal preparation and food presentation
- Strong organisational skills with attention to cleanliness and detail
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Flexibility to adapt to various tasks within the kitchen and housekeeping duties
- Experience in food preparation, culinary tasks, or serving roles is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
