Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Café Assistant to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee and tea, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches, salads, and other light snacks.
- Take orders from customers accurately and efficiently, providing friendly service at all times.
- Handle cash transactions accurately using the POS system and manage customer payments.
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including tables, counters, and equipment, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently to ensure a safe environment for both staff and customers.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly without compromising quality.
Experience
- Previous experience in a café or hospitality setting is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
- Knowledge of food safety standards is desirable.
- Barista experience is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential.
- Experience in serving customers with professionalism and courtesy.
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Good time management skills to prioritise duties during busy periods.
