What you'll be doing
As a Commercial Analyst, you'll work with colleagues and stakeholders across the business to:
- Support the development and delivery of commercial and business strategies.
- Analyse complex information to identify trends, risks, opportunities and key business drivers.
- Produce robust analysis and insightful reporting to support decision-making.
- Help manage contractual processes and financial arrangements between parties.
- Support the appraisal and validation of commercial proposals, options and benefits.
- Monitor business performance through meaningful metrics, dashboards and reporting.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and value.
- Assist in the production of reports, presentations and formal business documentation.
Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- Highly numerate with strong analytical and financial skills
- Experience of contributing to the development and implementation of change initiatives
- Advanced level of Microsoft Office systems, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Good written and presentation skills including an ability to analyse and present complex information in a clear and concise format
- Proven customer service orientation and collaborative approach
- Degree trained or equivalent business experience
Desirable
- Large utility, contracting and/or engineering organisation experience
- Rail industry exposure
- Financial Management or Accountancy Qualification
- Trained/certified in project management with Microsoft Project experience
