Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Childminding Assistant to support the care and development of children in a nurturing environment. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about childcare and education with a great work life balance. The working hours will be Monday to Friday 9am until 3.30pm, with a pay scale meeting the national minimum wage (experience dependant)
The role involves assisting with daily activities, ensuring children's safety, and fostering their growth through engaging interactions. Candidates with experience in childcare are encouraged to apply. A valid driving licence and own vehicle is essential to facilitate transportation needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist in supervising children during play, meal times, and educational activities
- Support the organisation of age-appropriate learning and recreational activities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times
- Help with meal preparation and light housekeeping related to childcare
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members
- Support children's behavioural development through positive reinforcement
- Assist with transportation as needed, including driving children to activities
Experience
- Previous experience in childcare is desirable yet not essential
- Knowledge of child development principles and age-specific care practices
- Fluency in English
- Valid driving licence and own vehicle is essential for transporting children or running errands (Mileage costs and business insurance will be covered)
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills and patience
