Prestige Linen Services is a growing commercial laundry based in Bishop’s Stortford, providing linen hire and laundry services to hotels, restaurants, serviced apartments, health clubs and hospitality venues across Hertfordshire, Essex, London Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Suffolk.
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Delivery Driver / Warehouse Operative to join our team. No previous laundry experience is required as full training will be provided.
About the Role
This position is a combined driving and warehouse role. A large part of the job involves delivering clean linen to our customers and collecting used linen. When you are not out on deliveries, you will assist the production team within our laundry facility.
This is a physically active role involving lifting linen bags and being on your feet for periods of time, so applicants should be comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Reliability and good attendance are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver clean linen to customer sites across our service areas
Collect used linen from customers and return to the warehouse
When not undertaking delivery duties, you will be required to assist with warehouse and laundry production tasks including:
- Loading and unloading washers
- Sorting linen into wash categories
- Packing finished linen orders
- Feeding linen through ironing and folding machines
- Quality checking finished linen
- Preparing orders ready for delivery
- Assisting with general warehouse duties and maintaining a clean working environment
Maintain a professional appearance and provide excellent customer service when visiting customers, while communicating effectively with the warehouse team based at our Bishop’s Stortford facility.
Requirements
✔ Full UK Driving Licence (required)
✔ Reliable and punctual
✔ Positive attitude and willingness to learn
✔ Comfortable with physical work and lifting linen bags and moving cages
✔ Good communication skills
Previous experience as a delivery driver, van driver or warehouse operative is helpful but not essential.
Working Hours
- 40 hours guaranteed per week
Typical shift patterns may include:
- 7:00am – 3:00pm
- 9:00am – 5:00pm
Weekend availability may be required.
