We have an excellent permanent opportunity to join our Fortem team at Stonewater Housing as a Labourer/Kitchen Fitting Assistant in the Social Housing planned works team based in the Southwest area of Salisbury and Bournemouth so travel is essential. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone interested in property renovations and skilled trades who enjoys Labouring work within residential homes ( Not on building sites) Core Hours are Monday-Friday Start 8.00am-4.30pm -Company large Van and Fuel card provided! Working alongside experienced Kitchen and Bathroom Fitters, you'll gain valuable exposure to carpentry, plumbing, and installation work while supporting the team with waste management and site logistics. This is a varied role, with a rare opportunity to learn about Installations of Kitchens and Bathrooms whilst supporting qualified Fitters and support the efficient waste management of materials As a Kitchen Fitting Assistant, you will be supporting the specialist trades and in return you will be exposed to see how expert Carpentry and Plumbing works and can gain a further insight into this for your own development. You will be responsible for helping to load old kitchens and bathrooms into our company (long wheelbase Van) and making regular trips to the correct refuge locations and completing required digital information via our Smart phone waste app, for deliveries, therefore heavy lifting and driving is essential. You will be ensuring all work is undertaken to a high standard.Operating within the company Health and Safety guidelines, and remaining within time parameters, whilst being Courteous and professional around tenants and colleagues
Our Services
Stonewater Housing is one of our long-term Social Housing contracts. We look after over 7,500 properties in 4 different areas of the South-West, from Taunton and Yeovil, over to Bristol and Swindon and down to Salisbury and Bournemouth. Duties & Responsibilities
• Support Kitchen and Bathroom Fitters on-site .• Load and transport removed kitchens and bathrooms using a company van. • You would be expected to drive one of our large wheel-based vans to advised locations – with varying distances around the Southwest of the UK, for example Salisbury to Bournemouth, for example around 60-90min each way is usual. • Drive between social housing properties and designated waste disposal locations. • Accurately complete waste transfer records using a smartphone app. • Carry out manual handling and heavy lifting duties. • Maintain high standards of health and safety. • Provide excellent service when working around tenants and colleagues. • Once at the location you will help load stripped out kitchen or bathroom onto our vehicle and drive to next destination and repeat. • You will be able to work independently and within a busy team and working professionally around the Trades and Tenants is essential
What you will need
A keen interest in Property renovations and able to work well within Social Housing environments Good Driving abilities Ability for Heavy Lifting Organised with good understanding of Health and Safety Professional and Courteous with Trades and Tenants Full UK driving licence (Max 5 points, No recent Driving bans) Able to pass satisfactory basic DBS check
