Main purpose of the role:
We’re recruiting a Level 4 Vehicle Technician to lead on advanced diagnostics across complex mechanical, electrical and high‑voltage systems. This person will provide technical mentorship within the workshop, uphold strict quality control through final checks and road tests, and work directly with manufacturers on intricate technical issues. Candidates must hold an IMI Level 4 qualification, demonstrate strong Level 3 experience, and bring confident communication skills to support both colleagues and customers.
Role Duties:
- Advanced Diagnostics: Find and fix complex mechanical, electrical, or high-voltage electric/hybrid faults without standard routine guides.
- Technical Mentorship: Provide expert advice, technical support, and coaching to lower-level technicians in the workshop.
- Quality Control: Monitor workshop health and safety risk procedures and perform final quality checks or road tests on repaired vehicles.
- Manufacturer Liaison: Communicate directly with product makers and suppliers regarding rare or intricate technical issues.
Key Requirements & Qualifications:
- Certification: Hold an official IMI Level 4 qualification (such as Advanced Automotive Studies, Master Technician, or Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Repair).
- Experience: Proven prior competence at Level 3 with substantial hands-on automotive repair history.
- Safety Protocols: Deep knowledge of safe isolation, testing, and high-voltage recommissioning procedures if working on EVs.
- Communication: Strong ability to translate complex engineering issues into clear advice for colleagues and clients.
- Full UK Driving Licence held for a minimum of 2 years,
