Available Opportunities
Baking Buddies Afterschool Club Teacher
Location: Hackney, E8
Day: Tuesday
Time: 3:45pm – 4:45pm
Contract: 8 September – 15 December 2026
Children: KS1 (ages 6–7)
Pay: £40 per hour
Lead fun, hands-on baking and cooking sessions for young children. Children will explore simple recipes and develop practical skills while learning about ingredients, following instructions, measuring and creating their own tasty treats.
All ingredients and materials are provided.
Debate Afterschool Club Teacher
Location: Walthamstow, E17
Day: Wednesday
Time: 3:30pm – 4:30pm
Contract: 9 September – 16 December 2026
Children: Years 3–5 (ages 8–10)
Pay: £35 per hour
Lead engaging and age-appropriate debate sessions that encourage children to express their ideas, listen to others and develop confidence in speaking. Sessions should introduce children to discussion, reasoning, respectful disagreement and presenting different viewpoints in a fun and supportive environment.
Teachers are encouraged to bring their own topics, activities and ideas to make each session engaging and accessible.
Job Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging weekly afterschool club sessions.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
- Inspire children to develop confidence, communication, creativity and practical skills.
- Adapt activities to suit different ages and abilities.
- Manage behaviour positively in line with school expectations.
- Ensure children's wellbeing and safety throughout each session.
- Arrive on time and be fully prepared for every session.
- Maintain a fun, encouraging and professional atmosphere throughout the club.
Essential Requirements
- Enhanced DBS certificate.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Experience teaching or leading activities for primary-aged children.
- Relevant experience in baking, cooking, debate, public speaking, education, youth work or similar activities.
- Friendly, enthusiastic, and engaging teaching style.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Reliable, professional, and able to commit for the full Autumn Term.
Desirable Skills
- Experience delivering extracurricular or afterschool clubs.
- Relevant qualifications or professional experience in baking, cooking, debate, public speaking or education.
- Experience working with children aged 6–11.
- Ability to create fun and age-appropriate practical activities.
- First Aid or Safeguarding training.
