We're looking for a passionate, motivated, and experienced Senior Residential Lead to join our brand-new children's home opening in October. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a new service from day one while developing your leadership skills within a supportive and ambitious team.
As Senior Residential Lead, you'll play a key role in supporting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home, mentoring staff, maintaining high standards of care, and ensuring positive outcomes for children and young people.
This role is ideal for someone looking to progress into management within children's residential care.

About the Role
As Senior Residential Lead, you will:
- Lead shifts and provide day-to-day operational support.
- Act as a role model for the staff team, promoting high standards of care and professionalism.
- Support the Registered Manager with the effective running of the home.
- Complete staff supervisions, coaching sessions, and competency observations.
- Assist with staff induction and development.
- Support safeguarding practices and ensure children's welfare is always the highest priority.
- Promote positive relationships and therapeutic care for children and young people.
- Support with care planning, risk assessments, and accurate record keeping.
- Build positive relationships with families, social workers, education providers, and external professionals.
- Help maintain compliance with Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) standards and organisational policies.
- Contribute to creating a positive, nurturing, and child-centred culture within the home.
Working Hours
This role requires flexibility to work morning and afternoon shifts across Monday to Sunday.
Your varied working pattern is designed to ensure you can work alongside all members of the team, provide effective leadership, complete staff supervisions, support development, and maintain consistent standards across every shift.
Some flexibility will be required to meet the needs of the service.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working within a children's residential care setting.
- QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People (Residential Childcare) or currently working towards the qualification.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- A positive, resilient, and child-centred approach.
- Good understanding of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable
- Experience leading shifts or supervising staff.
- Experience completing records, care plans, and risk assessments.
- Knowledge of Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) standards and children's residential care regulations.
