Foundations Groundworks & Construction Ltd is a growing groundwork contractor based in Brackley. We complete foundations, drainage, reinforced concrete, slabs, lift pits, external works and complete groundworks packages across Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
We are looking for an experienced and dependable Groundworker / Working Foreman to join our team.
This is a hands-on position for someone who can complete groundworks to a high standard while helping organise a small team. You must be capable of working independently, reading drawings and taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of smaller projects when required.
Duties will include:
- Foundations and reinforced concrete work
- Below-ground drainage and service installations
- Excavation, trenching and formation preparation
- Setting levels, falls and drainage gradients
- Installing reinforcement, formwork and concrete
- Oversites, slabs and external works
- Reading construction drawings and specifications
- Organising labour, plant and materials
- Supervising a small team on site
- Following RAMS and maintaining safe working practices
- Communicating professionally with clients and site management
- Maintaining good productivity and workmanship
Essential requirements:
- Proven groundworks experience
- Strong experience in foundations, drainage and concrete work
- Ability to read drawings and use laser levels
- Valid and appropriate CSCS card
- Full UK driving licence
- Reliable transport to Brackley or agreed meeting points
- Good attendance and timekeeping
- Able to provide two recent work or site-manager references
- Eligible to work in the UK
Desirable qualifications:
- CPCS or NPORS excavator ticket
- Dumper and roller tickets
- SSSTS qualification
- Experience running a small groundwork gang
- Experience working on both domestic and commercial projects
