Purpose of the role:
As a Transaction Monitor Analyst, you will play a key role in safeguarding the organisation against financial crime by monitoring and reviewing customer transactions for unusual, suspicious, or high-risk activity. Working as part of the Financial Crime and Compliance team, you will investigate alerts, analyse transaction patterns, and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and risk controls.
As a Transaction Monitoring Analyst you will be responsible for:
- Review and investigate transaction monitoring alerts, identifying and escalating suspicious activity where required.
- Assess customer transactions and behaviour to identify potential financial crime, fraud, AML, and sanctions risks.
- Maintain accurate investigation records, case notes, and decision rationales.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and procedures.
- Gather and review information to support investigations and case resolution.
- Manage caseloads effectively, delivering against agreed service levels and quality standards.
- Identify emerging risks and contribute to the continuous improvement of transaction monitoring controls and processes.
What we require from the candidate:
- Experience in Transaction Monitoring, AML, Financial Crime, Fraud, or Compliance.
- Experience within Financial Services.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to identify and investigate suspicious activity.
- Good understanding of financial crime risks and regulatory requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage workloads effectively and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.
