Sales Executive / Business Development Manager Education Sector | £37,500–£45,000 + uncapped Commission |55k-65k Leeds
Want to join a growing business where your sales ability can make a genuine impact?
Arts Photography is looking for an ambitious, energetic and commercially minded Sales Executive / Business Development Manager to join our growing team in Leeds.
We're not looking for somebody who simply wants another sales job.
We're looking for someone who loves winning new business, enjoys building relationships, gets a buzz from hitting targets and wants to be part of an ambitious company with exciting plans for growth.
If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
Who are Arts Photography?
Arts Photography is a fast-growing photography company specialising in the education sector.
We work with schools and nurseries across the UK, providing contemporary school photography combined with technology and a customer experience designed to make photography days easier for schools, parents and pupils.
We're an established business, but we're still entrepreneurial, creative and ambitious.
And we're growing.
That's why we're expanding our sales team.
You'll be joining us at an exciting stage in the company's development, with a large potential market, a proven service and a genuine opportunity to make your mark as we grow.
The opportunity
Your job is simple:
Find great schools and nurseries. Start conversations. Build relationships. Win business.
You'll develop new business across the education sector, initially focusing on primary schools, secondary schools and nurseries throughout Yorkshire and surrounding areas.
This is a genuine new-business sales role.
You'll prospect for opportunities, speak to decision-makers, arrange Zoom and face-to-face meetings, present our services, follow up professionally and convert opportunities into long-term customers.
You'll be given support, systems, marketing materials and an established proposition — but we're looking for somebody who brings the drive, personality and determination to make things happen.
What you'll be doing
- Proactively identifying and contacting schools and nurseries
- Building a strong pipeline of new opportunities
- Speaking confidently with Headteachers, Business Managers, Nursery Managers and other decision-makers
- Booking and conducting Zoom and face-to-face sales meetings
- Presenting the Arts Photography proposition clearly and enthusiastically
- Following up opportunities consistently and professionally
- Negotiating and closing new business
- Maintaining accurate CRM records and managing your sales pipeline
- Working towards agreed activity, pipeline and new-business targets
- Developing strong, long-term relationships with customers
- Working closely with our wider team to help drive the company's growth
Who we're looking for
You'll probably be someone who is naturally positive, confident, organised and commercially switched-on.
You enjoy talking to people and can build rapport quickly — but you're also disciplined enough to follow up when you said you would.
You're comfortable picking up the telephone.
You're comfortable on Zoom.
You're comfortable sitting across the table from a prospective customer and explaining why they should work with us.
And importantly, you enjoy selling.
We're particularly interested in candidates who:
- Have at least two years' genuine sales experience
- Can demonstrate a successful sales track record
- Have experience in new-business development, telesales, field sales or B2B sales
- Are confident communicating with senior decision-makers
- Are organised and excellent at following up opportunities
- Are comfortable working to targets and KPIs
- Have good CRM and Microsoft Office skills
- Have excellent written and spoken English
- Are self-motivated and able to manage their own pipeline
- Have a full driving licence and access to a car
Experience selling into schools, education, photography, media or professional services would be particularly useful, but isn't essential.
Attitude, sales ability and track record matter more to us than having worked in our industry before.
What we offer
£37,500–£45,000 basic salary, depending on experience
Plus an uncapped commission/bonus opportunity for winning new business.
You'll also receive:
- Generous holiday allowance
- Company pension
- Free on-site parking
- Company events
- Hybrid working potential
- Mileage/travel support for client meetings
- No weekend working
- The opportunity to join a growing company where strong performance is noticed and rewarded
- Genuine scope for the role to develop as the business grows
Our office is based in LS8, Leeds, close to Roundhay Park, with a mixture of office-based working, client meetings and potential hybrid working.
Why join us?
This isn't a role where you'll disappear into a huge corporate sales department.
You'll be part of a relatively small team where the business you win actually matters.
You'll see the schools you've brought into the company.
You'll see the revenue you've generated.
You'll see the company grow.
And for the right person, there's significant opportunity to grow your responsibilities, earnings and career alongside the business.
We're ambitious about where we're going and we're looking for another ambitious person to help us get there.
Want to stand out?
Click APPLY and send us your CV.
But if you really want to get our attention, send us a short video introducing yourself and telling us why you'd be brilliant at this role.
You'll be speaking to customers on Zoom regularly, so we'd love to see your personality and communication skills rather than just reading about them on a CV.
If you love sales, love winning and want to be part of a business on an exciting growth journey, we'd love to hear from you.
