Retail Sales & Stockroom Assistant (Part-Time)
Location: Southend-on-Sea
Hours: Fridays & Saturdays – 6 hours per day (12 hours per week)
We're looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and hands-on Retail Sales & Stockroom Assistant to join our team in Southend-on-Sea. We are an established retailer specialising in nursery goods, helping parents and families find the right products for their growing families.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced retail environment and is equally comfortable providing excellent customer service on the shop floor as they are working behind the scenes in the stockroom.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding customer service and assist customers with their purchases.
- Drive sales by confidently engaging with customers and recommending products.
- Receive, unpack and organise deliveries.
- Maintain a clean, organised and efficient stockroom.
- Lift and move heavy stock safely.
- Assemble and dismantle furniture and display items as required.
- Replenish stock and maintain attractive product displays.
- Assist with general store housekeeping and daily operational tasks.
- Work collaboratively with the team to ensure the store runs smoothly.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous retail sales experience.
- Has excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Is physically fit and capable of regular heavy lifting.
- Is practical and confident assembling and dismantling furniture.
- Is organised, proactive and able to prioritise tasks.
- Enjoys working as part of a team.
- Has a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
- Is reliable and available to work every Friday and Saturday.
- Is flexible and willing to work additional days when required to provide holiday cover and occasional Sunday shifts.
Hours
- Fridays: 6 hours
- Saturdays: 6 hours
- Total: 12 hours per week.
- Additional hours may be available to cover staff holidays and occasional Sunday trading.
