Filey Care & Support is a growing care provider delivering high-quality, person-centred support to adults with a range of support needs across East Sussex, Brighton and London. As part of our continued growth, we are excited to be opening a new service in Eastbourne and are looking for caring, dedicated Support Workers to join our expanding team.
Our services support individuals to live as independently as possible within safe, welcoming environments. The people we support may have learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, physical disabilities, complex health needs, or behaviours that may challenge. As our new Eastbourne service develops, you will play a key role in helping shape a positive and supportive environment for the people who call it home.
The Role
As a Support Worker, you will provide person-centred support that promotes independence, choice, dignity and wellbeing. Every day is different, and you will support individuals to achieve their goals, participate in their local community, and live fulfilling lives.
This role requires flexibility as you may work across our supported living and residential services when required.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred support to individuals with mental health needs, learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities and complex care needs, promoting independence, dignity and wellbeing.
- Support individuals with personal care, medication administration, mobility needs and the safe use of specialist equipment where required.
- Encourage and enable participation in everyday activities, appointments, community access, hobbies and social opportunities.
- Assist with daily living tasks including cooking, shopping, budgeting, cleaning and maintaining a safe and comfortable home environment.
- Monitor, record and report changes in health, wellbeing or behaviour, maintaining accurate care records and documentation.
- Promote positive behaviour support, manage risks appropriately and follow safeguarding procedures at all times.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and professionals, attending training, supervision and meetings while remaining flexible to support across services as required.
- Administer, record and monitor medication in accordance with organisational policies and training requirements.
- Observe, monitor and accurately report changes in physical health, mental wellbeing, behaviour or presentation, escalating concerns appropriately
- Assist individuals to attend appointments with healthcare professionals, community services and other external agencies when required.
- Identify and manage risks appropriately while balancing individuals' rights, choices and independence.

Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a care or support setting.
- Ability to work flexibly on a rota basis, including day shifts, waking nights, sleep in's, bank holidays and weekends.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Good written, verbal and numeracy skills.
- Basic IT skills for recording and reporting purposes.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
- A positive, person-centred approach and commitment to delivering high-quality care and support.
Preferred
While not essential, the following qualifications and experience would be advantageous:
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification).
- Experience working within supported living services
- Previous experience supporting adults with mental health needs, learning disabilities, autism or complex care needs.
