HGV Class 1 Container Driver
- £3,358–£4,200 gross per month, including bonuses

Seafast Containers Ltd is looking for experienced HGV Class 1 drivers to join our family-run container haulage business.
Key Information
- Monday-to-Friday, permanent work based in Marchwood
- £3,358–£4,200 gross per month, including bonuses
- Collect containers, from Southampton, for delivery throughout the UK
- No tramping; usually only 1–3 nights out per month, with a £30 tax-free night-out allowance
- Optional weekends and overtime
- Paid Driver CPC training and well-maintained vehicles
The Role
- Collect and deliver containers from Southampton Docks and other UK ports and locations
- Complete daily vehicle checks and PODs using our mobile app, reporting defects accurately
- Keep in contact with the transport office and comply with drivers’ hours and tachograph rules
- Look after your vehicle and equipment while dealing professionally with ports, customers and delivery sites
Container experience is helpful but not essential. Support is available for experienced Class 1 drivers who are new to container work.
Requirements
You must have:
- Valid UK Category C+E licence, Driver CPC card and Digital Tachograph Card
- At least six months’ active and verifiable Class 1 driving experience
- Good understanding of drivers’ hours and tachograph rules
- Reliable and professional approach
- No more than six penalty points, subject to insurance approval

Important Experience Requirement
For insurance purposes, you must have, at least, six months’ active and verifiable Class 1 driving experience. This must be clearly shown on your CV, employment history, agency records or references.
