Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in finance while studying towards a nationally recognised AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualification.
Working within a supportive Finance Team, the Finance Apprentice will gain practical experience across all aspects of the finance function, including purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control, banking, payroll support and client administration.
The successful candidate will receive structured on-the-job training alongside one day per week dedicated study support during working hours to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for a successful career in finance.
As an apprentice, you will receive training and support in all aspects of the role including:
Sales Ledger & Invoicing, Credit Control, Purchase Ledger, Banking & Finance, Administration, Payroll Support, Client Administration
Apprenticeship & Learning
As part of this role you will:
- Study towards the AAT qualification through an approved training provider.
- Receive one day per week dedicated study support during working hours as part of the apprenticeship programme.
- Attend college or online learning sessions as required.
- Complete coursework, assignments and assessments within agreed timescales.
- Undertake the required off-the-job training.
- Work alongside experienced finance professionals who will provide coaching and mentoring.
- Build practical finance skills to complement your classroom learning.
- Develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for a successful career in finance.
Skills
You should have:
- GCSEs (or equivalent), including Mathematics and English (Grade 4/C or above preferred).
- A genuine interest in finance and accounting.
- Good numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Professionalism, reliability and integrity.
- Ability to demonstrate and uphold the organisation’s CARE values.
