Due to continued growth and an expanding workload, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Contracts Manager to join our team based at our Wakefield office.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with extensive experience in the precast concrete industry to play a key role in the successful delivery of a diverse range of projects nationwide.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Contracts Manager will be responsible for the successful delivery of multiple precast concrete projects from contract award through to completion.
The successful candidate will manage project planning, lifting operations, site installation activities, Lift Plans, Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), ensuring all projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and within budget.
The role requires close collaboration with clients, principal contractors, site teams and Lynx Precast Ltd's internal departments, including Design, Production, Commercial, Logistics and the Contracts Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple precast concrete contracts simultaneously.
- Oversee projects from design coordination and manufacture through to delivery, installation and handover.
- Review drawings, specifications and contract documentation.
- Prepare and manage project programmes in line with agreed project budgets and available resources.
- Coordinate closely with the Design, Production, Commercial, Logistics and Contracts Teams to ensure project requirements are met.
- Coordinate site installation activities, logistics and labour requirements.
- Formulate and produce comprehensive Lift Plans for all lifting operations.
- Prepare and manage Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Plan and coordinate lifting operations in accordance with LOLER, PUWER and industry best practice.
- Monitor project progress and maintain accurate project records, providing regular updates to the Operations Manager and relevant internal departments.
- Manage project variations, contractual risks and change control procedures.
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with company Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
- Support and collaborate with the Contracts Team to ensure the successful delivery of contracts and project objectives.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in a Contracts Manager, Project Manager or similar role within the precast concrete, structural concrete or construction industry.
- CPCS Appointed Person Qualification (A61/A62 or equivalent).
- Valid CSCS Card.
- Demonstrable experience planning and managing lifting operations.
- Experience preparing and implementing Lift Plans.
- Experience producing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Strong knowledge of LOLER, PUWER and CDM Regulations.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commercial awareness and problem-solving ability.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable Qualifications
- SMSTS qualification.
- Knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts.
- Experience managing precast concrete installation teams.
