Contributing News Writer (Voluntary) — PAUSE Magazine
PAUSE Magazine is looking for passionate, fast-moving news writers to join our contributing team on a voluntary basis.
About the Role
You'll cover breaking news and stories across fashion, streetwear, and culture for pausemag.co.uk. This is a flexible, remote contributor position — there's no fixed 9-to-5 shift. Instead, we work around your availability within standard working hours (9am–5pm).
What We're Looking For
Availability to contribute on 2–3 days per week
Able to commit roughly 3 hours per writing session, turning around quick, sharp news pieces
A genuine passion for fashion, streetwear, and culture
Fast, accurate writers who can spot a story and get it live quickly
Reliable and communicative — even in a flexible, self-directed role
What You'll Get
Published byline on PAUSE Magazine
Portfolio-building experience covering fashion and culture news
Flexibility to fit writing around your own schedule
The chance to work with a fast-paced, established UK media brand
Remote working
Compensation
As it stands, we don't have any full-time opportunities available right now as we remain a fairly small, independent publication. What we can offer is the opportunity to contribute to the platform. This isn't a paid position but we do offer sponsored post opportunities on a rotating basis across the team, which are paid on commission. These opportunities vary and the more consistent effort we see from a contributor, the more sponsored post opportunities tend to come their way. Commission structure: 10% of the sponsored post value, capped at £250 per post (so a £500 post earns £50, a £1,000+ post earns the £100-£250 cap).
Allocation is rotated fairly and equally across the team.
How to Apply
Send a short introduction, your availability, and 1–2 writing samples (published or unpublished) to [email protected]
