Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong accounting and payroll experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and taking ownership of a broad range of financial responsibilities.
Duties
- Managing purchase ledger and sales ledger processes
- Processing supplier invoices, payments and account reconciliations
- Raising customer invoices and supporting credit control activities
- Processing monthly payroll accurately and on time
- Administering starters, leavers, pensions and statutory payments
- Maintaining Sage 50 Accounts and payroll records
- Assisting with month-end processes, journals, accruals and reconciliation
- Producing financial reports and analysis as required
- Responding to payroll and finance queries from employees and suppliers
Requirements
- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or Senior Accounts Assistant role
- Strong working knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts
- Payroll processing experience
- Excellent understanding of purchase ledger, sales ledger and bank reconciliations
- Good Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- AAT qualification (Level 3 or above) (Desirable)
- Experience supporting management accounts preparation (Desirable)
