Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accuracy Checking Dispensing Assistant to join our pharmacy team. We are offering two days a week, Fridays included. Responsibilities
- Verify prescriptions prepared by pharmacy technicians or dispensers for accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness before dispensing medications to patients
- Conduct thorough checks on medication labels, dosages, patient information, and expiry dates to prevent errors
- Assist in the preparation of medications under supervision, ensuring all safety protocols are followed
- Support pharmacists in medication administration processes by confirming correct medication delivery and documentation
- Maintain detailed records of all checks performed, discrepancies identified, and actions taken to ensure traceability and compliance
- Collaborate with pharmacy staff to resolve any issues related to medication accuracy or patient safety promptly
- Uphold strict confidentiality and adhere to all legal and regulatory standards governing pharmacy practice
Experience
- Prior experience as a ACDA or in a similar medication dispensing role is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient care practices is essential
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to follow precise instructions and maintain high standards of accuracy under pressure
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and medication safety protocols is a plus
