The Charlotte Arms is set to open its doors in the heart of Edinburgh, bringing together exceptional hospitality, quality drinks and a lively, welcoming atmosphere. Created by the team behind some of Glasgow and Edinburgh’s favourite venues, including Wunderbar, Kitty O’Shea's and Kong, known for their vibrant character and live music. We’re now excited to bring that same passion and energy to our new venue.
We’re looking for an experienced Duty Manager to join us from the very beginning and play a key role in bringing this exciting new venue to life. Working closely with the wider leadership team, you’ll help drive a successful pre-opening and launch, before taking responsibility for supporting the smooth running of the venue and delivering an outstanding experience for both guests and the team.
What you'll do:
- Take responsibility for the smooth running of shifts, leading from the front and setting the standard for excellent service
- Be a visible and hands-on presence on the floor, ensuring guests receive positive experience
- Support supervisors & motivate the team throughout busy service
- Help to create a positive, energetic and supportive team environment
- Ensure consistently high standards of hospitality, service and product are maintained throughout every shift
- Support the training and development of the team and new starters
- Take responsibility for opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and end of shift checks
- Support stock control, deliveries and maintaining accurate inventory levels
- Ensure every pint, cocktail and measure is prepared and presented consistently
- Support the smooth delivery of live music, events and promotional activity
- Build positive relationships with guests, handle feedback and resolve any issues
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, licensing compliance and health & safety throughout the venue
- Communicate effectively with the management team and providing feedback on shift performance, team members and operational matters
We would love to hear from you if you have:
- Previous experience as a Duty Manager or Supervisor
- A confident, approachable leadership style, with a hands on approach to supporting your team
- A genuine passion for hospitality and a commitment to creating memorable guest experiences
- Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to motivate a team
- Strong organisational and problem solving skills, with the ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure
- A good understanding of daily bar operations
- Good attention to detail and ability to maintain excellent standards across the venue
- Experience working in a premium pub, bar or high-volume environment (preferred but not essential)
- Experience working alongside live entertainment or events (preferred but not essential)
- A good understanding of licensing legislation, health & safety, and compliance requirements
- A Personal Licence (preferred, but not essential)
