We are Scotland's largest fireplace and stove showroom, with several shops in the Edinburgh area. Flames have been keeping Scotland warm for over 25 years.
We’re looking for a trainee to support our workshop operations at our Flames Superstore in Edinburgh (Stenhouse Mill Wynd). This is a great opportunity to gain new skills and build a career - lots of development opportunities. Training will be provided.
A lot of your time will be spent in our workshop making goods for our customers – including hearths and back-panels (from materials including granite, marble and slate). This will involve using cutting and polishing equipment in a workshop environment.
The candidate will have excellent attention to detail and pride in their work.
A basic understanding of hand tools and power tools would be great, and a willingness to learn and develop new skills is essential, as is the ability and desire to listen and follow instructions.
Must be able to work alone and use your own initiative, as well as work well within a team.
Duties will vary in this manual role which involves heavy lifting.
Salary will be discussed at the interview stage.
