Job Summary
Due to company growth, we are seeking a motivated and skilled Stonemason (Improver) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for enhancing and refining masonry structures, and working alongside experienced professionals to develop your skills further. Your expertise in handling various tools and techniques will contribute to high-quality craftsmanship on diverse projects, from restoring historic buildings to constructing new masonry features. Responsibilities
- Assist senior stonemasons in executing masonry tasks with precision and attention to detail.
- Use hand tools such as chisels, hammers, and trowels to shape and lay stones, bricks, and blocks
- Operate power tools including grinders, drills, and saws safely and effectively
- Candidates must have a range of experience including fixing, carving and banker work.
- Carry out mortar repairs, pointing, lime washing, rendering, and repointing.
- Must be physically capable of lifting masonry and of good health with free movement due to sometimes restricted spaces.
- Must be comfortable working at height on both scaffolding and MEWP access.
- Support the installation of stone facades, brickwork, and other masonry elements according to project specifications.
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all phases of work to maintain a secure job site.
- Maintain cleanliness of tools and work area to promote efficiency and safety.
Experience
- Proven experience working with hand tools, power tools, and masonry materials in a construction setting.
- Basic knowledge of stonemasonry, bricklaying and masonry techniques.
- Ability to interpret simple technical drawings or instructions is preferred.
- Willingness to learn new skills and take on increasing responsibilities as part of professional growth.

Salary dependent on experience
Must have own tools and a full manual driving licence.
Pay: £16.00-£18.00 per hour
