Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Painter and Decorator for a temporary contract lasting between three to six months (extension possible). The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality painting and decoration services across various projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your construction painting expertise within a dynamic environment, contributing to the aesthetic and functional enhancement of properties. The position requires a dedicated professional with strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of our team.
Work will be based from Wincanton at our care home and in the surrounding areas at HMO properties mainly in Wincanton and Yeovil.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying primers to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Apply paint, varnish, wallpaper, and other decorative finishes with precision and attention to detail
- Use specialised tools and equipment safely and effectively during all phases of decoration work
- Follow project specifications, colour schemes, and safety guidelines throughout each task
- Coordinate with clients or project managers to ensure timely completion of decorating projects
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, disposing of waste materials responsibly
- Report any issues or delays promptly to supervisors to facilitate smooth project progression
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction painting and decorating
- Valid driving licence and vehicle is preferred to facilitate transportation between sites
- Capable of understanding instructions clearly and liaising effectively with team members and clients
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of quality
Pay: £14.00-£16.00 per hour
