Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Flexographic Printer to join our production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining an 8 colour flexographic printing press to produce high-quality printed products that meet customer specifications and company quality standards. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
The Flexographic Printer will prepare presses for production by installing printing plates, mixing and matching inks, adjusting press settings, and monitoring print quality throughout each production run. They will perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, and ensure that production schedules are met while minimizing waste and downtime. The ideal candidate has experience operating flexographic printing equipment, a solid understanding of print processes and colour management, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Success in this role requires excellent problem-solving skills, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team to consistently deliver high-quality printed products.
Duties
- Set up and operate flexographic printing presses according to production specifications.
- Install and align printing plates, anilox rolls, doctor blades, and print cylinders.
- Mix, match, and adjust inks to achieve accurate colour and print quality.
- Monitor press operation throughout production runs to ensure consistent quality and registration.
- Inspect printed materials for colour accuracy, image quality, registration, and other quality standards.
- Make press adjustments to correct print defects and maintain production efficiency.
- Perform press make-readies, changeovers, and cleanups while minimizing downtime.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance and basic repairs on printing equipment.
- Read and interpret job tickets, production schedules, and customer specifications.
- Verify materials, substrates, inks, and tooling before beginning production.
- Accurately record production data, material usage, downtime, and quality checks.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating flexographic printing presses in a manufacturing environment (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Knowledge of flexographic printing processes, press setup, and production procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret job orders, production specifications, and technical documents.
- Experience with colour matching, ink mixing, and print quality inspection.
Pay: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
