These are clinic-based roles, with practitioners working from our purpose-built clinic in Ferndown. The role combines face-to-face consultations with remote consultations undertaken from the clinic as part of the working day.

The Men’s Health Clinic is an established, CQC-registered private medical clinic dedicated to the diagnosis and management of Testosterone Deficiency and wider hormonal health in men.

As demand for our services continues to grow, we are seeking to appoint two experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioners or Advanced Clinical Practitioners to join our clinical team for either two or four clinical sessions per week, equivalent to one or two full working days.
These positions are initially being offered to provide paternity leave cover, with the opportunity to become permanent appointments as the clinic continues to expand.
The Role:
This is an opportunity to practise within an environment where clinical reasoning, evidence-based care, patient education and continuity are highly valued.
Working within your professional scope of practice and our established clinical framework, you will undertake consultations with existing patients receiving treatment for Testosterone Deficiency and related hormonal health concerns.
Depending on your experience, competence and completion of the clinic’s training and assessment process, the role may also develop to include consultations with new patients and involvement in broader areas of men’s health.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Undertaking detailed clinical assessments and reviewing patient symptoms, medical history and treatment response.
- Reviewing and interpreting laboratory investigations within your professional competence.
- Conducting routine treatment reviews and monitoring patient progress.
- Prescribing within your scope of practice and in accordance with clinic protocols, clinical governance arrangements and relevant professional standards.
- Developing and reviewing individualised treatment plans in collaboration with the patient and wider medical team.
- Providing clear patient education regarding treatment, lifestyle, nutrition, exercise and long-term health.
- Identifying clinical concerns, contraindications or changes in risk and escalating these appropriately.
- Maintaining accurate, timely and comprehensive clinical records.
- Contributing to clinical meetings, case discussions, audit and quality improvement.
- Supporting the delivery and continued development of consistently high standards of clinical care.
The role includes a combination of face-to-face and remote consultations, with care delivered through a model that prioritises clinical quality, patient safety and continuity.
Please note that this is a clinic-based position. Although some consultations are conducted remotely with patients, practitioners are expected to work from our Ferndown clinic during their scheduled clinical sessions.
While remote consultations form an important part of our service, we have deliberately retained a strong face-to-face model of care. We believe that meeting patients in person, particularly at key stages of their treatment, enables more comprehensive assessment, stronger therapeutic relationships and a deeper understanding of the individual behind the laboratory results.
It also reflects our wider philosophy that outstanding healthcare is built on trust, continuity and meaningful clinician-patient relationships, rather than convenience alone.
You will be joining a clinic that places real emphasis on developing long-term relationships with patients. Rather than delivering isolated episodes of care, you will have the opportunity to support men throughout their treatment and become part of a team committed to improving men’s health on a wider scale.
Clinical days run from 08:00 to 16:30, with a 30-minute lunch break and protected administrative time built into the working day for reviewing investigations, completing clinical documentation and managing patient follow-up.
Appointments are appropriately timed and fully supported by our dedicated and experienced administrative team, allowing you to concentrate on delivering excellent patient care.
Previous experience in men’s health, endocrinology or Testosterone Replacement Therapy would be welcomed but is not essential. We provide a comprehensive induction, structured specialist training and ongoing clinical support to ensure that you develop the knowledge and confidence required for the role.
What We’re Looking For:
You will need to:
- Be a registered healthcare professional with current registration through the NMC or HCPC, as applicable.
- Hold a recognised advanced clinical practice qualification or demonstrate equivalent advanced-level clinical experience.
- Hold an independent prescribing qualification.
- Have significant experience working autonomously in primary care, general practice, urgent care, acute medicine or another relevant clinical setting.
- Demonstrate excellent clinical assessment, consultation and decision-making skills.
- Understand the importance of working within professional competence and clearly defined clinical governance arrangements.
- Be able to recognise clinical risk and escalate complex or uncertain cases appropriately.
- Be committed to delivering high-quality, personalised and patient-centred care.
- Have an interest in men’s health, endocrinology, preventative medicine or long-term condition management.
- Enjoy applying evidence-based medicine to individual patient care.
- Communicate complex clinical information clearly and sensitively.
- Value collaborative working within a dedicated and supportive multidisciplinary team.
- Share our belief that improving men’s health extends beyond the consultation room. You’ll value the role that education, prevention and a strong sense of community play in empowering men to achieve meaningful, lasting improvements in their health and wellbeing.
This position may particularly appeal to an experienced ANP or ACP currently working in general practice who would welcome longer consultations, greater continuity of care and the opportunity to develop specialist expertise in men’s hormonal health.
Applications are also welcomed from experienced advanced practitioners working in other relevant clinical settings who have strong assessment skills, independent prescribing experience and an interest in developing within this specialty.
Salary:
£65,000 to £80,000 per annum, full-time equivalent, depending on experience, qualifications and the expertise you bring to the role.
This position is offered on a part-time basis, equivalent to one or two full days per week, with salary paid on a pro rata basis according to the agreed number of clinical sessions.
