Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Guillotine Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining guillotine cutting machines to ensure precise and efficient processing of materials. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work safely within a busy production environment. The successful applicant will play a vital part in delivering high-quality finished products while adhering to safety standards and production schedules.
Responsibilities
- Operate the guillotine cutting machine safely and efficiently, ensuring accurate cuts according to specifications.
- Operate the mechanical press
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of the equipment to prevent malfunctions and ensure optimal performance.
- Measure and mark materials accurately before cutting, utilising hand tools, power tools or machinery as required
- Assist with material handling, including heavy lifting within the warehouse or production area.
- Support fabrication and assembly processes
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, clearing the waste material, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to minimise risk during operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse operations, fabrication, or manufacturing environments is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently; physical strength is essential for handling large or bulky materials.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for precise measurements and cuts.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a keen eye for detail and mechanical aptitude to develop their skills within a dynamic manufacturing setting. Due to insurance purposes any successful candidate must be over the age of 18 years old.
Working pattern -
Monday - Thursday
6am - 4pm
Please note - Whilst we are currently based at The Fort Industrial Park, B35 7AR. We will be permanently moving premises within the next few months to a factory in Minworth. Please bare this in mind before applying as you will be expected to be able to travel to both sites.
Pay: £13.24 per hour
