We are recruiting Residential Childcare Workers for a welcoming children’s home in Littleover, Derby.
This opportunity is open to both experienced applicants and people looking to begin a career in children’s residential care. No previous experience or qualifications are required for Band 1, as full training and ongoing professional development will be provided.

Experienced or qualified applicants
Applicants should have at least six months’ relevant experience and be working towards or have completed a Level 4 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce.

About the role
You will provide safe, nurturing and individualised care to children and young people, supporting their emotional, physical, educational and independent development.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Creating a warm, safe and supportive home environment
- Acting as a positive role model
- Following individual care plans, risk assessments and safety plans
- Supporting education, activities, holidays and family arrangements
- Encouraging children and young people to develop confidence and independence
- Managing challenging situations calmly and positively
- Maintaining accurate daily records and reports
- Completing health and safety checks
- Reporting any safeguarding or compliance concerns
- Working closely with colleagues and the home’s management team
- Helping the home maintain a Good or Outstanding Ofsted rating

Previous experience supporting children or young people in care, education, healthcare, youth work or an activity-based setting would be beneficial, but it is not essential.
