Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to efficiently load, unload, and transport materials throughout the facility. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, safety protocols, and the ability to perform heavy lifting as needed.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and other equipment safely and efficiently to move materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload goods from lorries and containers, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and perform basic repairs as necessary to maintain operational efficiency.
- Utilise a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track inventory levels and manage stock movements.
- Assist in shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate documentation and timely dispatch of goods.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to all safety regulations and protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and effective communication throughout the warehouse.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator or in a similar role within a warehouse environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs.
- Proficient in basic maths for inventory management and stock control purposes.
- Familiarity with materials handling techniques and safety practices in a warehouse setting.
- Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 25 kg) consistently throughout the shift.
- Experience with shipping and receiving processes is advantageous.
- A valid forklift operator licence is required; additional certifications are a plus.
