Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Near Lockerbie, (Fully on-site)
Shift: 4 on / 4 off, rotating day and night shifts
Pay: £18.75 per hour
The Role
HRGO Recruitment is excited to be recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for a well-run manufacturing site near Lockerbie. Here, your mechanical skills will directly impact output and reliability. You'll handle reactive breakdowns and planned maintenance, working in a supportive engineering team with a strong safety and continuous improvement culture.
Key Duties

Rapid response fault-finding and repair to minimise downtime

Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and inspections to schedule

Maintain/repair conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, drives and rotating equipment

Work on pneumatic and hydraulic systems (diagnosis, repair, safe isolation)

Carry out mechanical fitting, alignment, replacements and basic fabrication as needed

Complete job cards/CMMS updates and support root cause analysis (RCA)
What We're Looking For (Essential)

Mechanical apprenticeship (or equivalent)

NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds (or equivalent) in Mechanical Maintenance/Engineering

Recent experience in manufacturing/industrial mechanical maintenance

Confident fault-finding on mechanical systems and rotating machinery

Good H&S mindset (LOTO / safe systems of work)

Able to work rotating days/nights on a 4 on / 4 off rota
