We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tailor to join our tailoring team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, altering, and repairing garments to meet clients’ specifications and ensure high-quality standards. Responsibilities
- Measure clients accurately to determine tailoring requirements
- Cut fabric precisely according to pattern specifications
- Sew garments with attention to detail, ensuring durability and finish quality
- Alter and adjust clothing to fit individual clients’ measurements and preferences
- Repair damaged or worn clothing items efficiently and neatly
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide expert advice on fabric choices and styles
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring all tools are properly stored after use
- Keep up-to-date with the latest tailoring techniques, fashion trends, and industry standards
Qualifications
- Proven experience in tailoring, dressmaking, or garment alteration is preferred
- Strong sewing skills with proficiency in using various sewing machines and hand tools
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in work
- Good communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members
- Ability to interpret technical drawings or patterns accurately
- Organised with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- A passion for craftsmanship, fashion, and continuous learning in tailoring techniques
