We are looking for a talented individual to join our team and play a key role in the commercialisation of our first-of-a-kind technology. We have started delivering orders of our strawberry picking robots to customers and are building a production capability to deliver many more in the months and years to come. The successful applicant will be a completer-finisher with attention to detail who can also make pragmatic trade-offs, developing new systems in parallel with day-to-day operations. Experience in previous procurement or purchasing roles would be beneficial.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Scope and implement a high quality purchasing system, covering all aspects from quote, to purchase order, goods receipt and inspection, invoice reconciliation, and stores management.
- Implement a programme to move us to demand driven supply chain – most parts moving to replenishment (pull) with the rest remaining on project-based (push) mechanisms.
- Implement a process for managing our supply chain – managing risks while transitioning relations to a reflect the realities of our spend, including running a cost-down programme, managing supply chain risk, and negotiating terms where appropriate.
- Take on responsibility for replenishment of parts to stores, owning responsibility for preventing stock ruptures to our manufacturing team.
- Monitor and report key procurement data/metrics (std BoM cost, cashflow forecast, days payment outstanding, inventory turns), working closely with our finance team to ensure models are kept up to date
- Manage our third-party logistics process, allowing us to manufacture within the footprint of our existing premises.
Desirable characteristics:
- Key - Attention to detail, completer-finisher
- Strong track record in procurement or closely related discipline
- Strong skills in standard office-suite software (Excel, etc).
- Experience in project management, experience in implementing business systems would be beneficial.
Key relationships:
- Report to the COO
- Work with our manufacturing team to ensure stock delivered on time to suit production schedule
- Work with our operations manager to ensure stock available to suit needs of our robot deployments
- Work with our finance team to report key metrics and update finance model assumptions.
Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
