Overview
We are seeking a dedicated SEND Playworker to join our team, providing engaging and supportive activities for children with special educational needs and disabilities. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine passion for childcare, with the ability to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment. Duties
- Facilitate play sessions tailored to the needs of children with SEND, encouraging socialisation and skill development
- Support children during activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Assist with behavioural management strategies in line with individual care plans
- Maintain accurate records of activities, progress, and any incidents or concerns
- Promote inclusive participation in all activities, adapting approaches as necessary for each child's abilities
- Foster a nurturing environment that encourages independence, confidence, and enjoyment
Experience
- Previous experience working with children in childcare, nannying, teaching, or similar roles is highly desirable but not required
- Experience supporting children with special educational needs or disabilities is advantageous
- Knowledge of child development principles and behaviour management techniques is beneficial
- A caring attitude combined with patience, creativity, and organisational skills are vital for success in this role
Pay: £9.50-£13.00 per hour
