Talent Acquisition Specialist
Up to £35,000 + Commission
Gateshead (Baltic) | Full-time | Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm
In this role, you’ll be the person who finds the people that power NGP’s growth. When a hiring manager needs a pipeline built, when a hard-to-fill role needs creative sourcing, when candidates need a sharp, professional experience from first contact to offer — that’s your work.
As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you’ll sit within the Recruitment team reporting to the Global Talent Acquisition Manager. You’ll own end-to-end recruitment across a range of roles, from volume sales hiring through to specialist and international positions. You’ll manage your own pipelines, advise hiring managers on process and selection, and deliver a candidate experience that reflects how seriously NGP takes its people.
If you’re looking for a role where you can combine high-volume delivery with genuine influence over how recruitment is run, this is it.
What you’ll actually be doing
- Managing end-to-end recruitment across multiple sales roles simultaneously, from briefing through to offer
- Building and maintaining candidate pipelines, proactively identifying talent pools and matching candidates to the right opportunities
- Partnering with hiring managers to define role requirements, advise on selection processes, and manage expectations on timelines and market availability
- Writing and posting job adverts across careers pages, job boards, and social networks including LinkedIn
- Sourcing candidates through professional networks, CV databases, and direct outreach
- Screening CVs and applications, conducting phone screens, and coordinating interview stages (first, second, and face-to-face)
- Interviewing candidates at various stages, evaluating performance against qualification criteria, and providing structured feedback
- Maintaining candidate records and recruitment systems accurately and in real time
- Completing all required paperwork during interviews, obtaining right-to-work documentation, and ensuring compliance throughout
- Providing regular vacancy reporting and using turnover and retention data to forecast hiring needs
- Identifying recruitment challenges and implementing solutions to improve speed, quality, and candidate experience
A typical day will involve a mix of structured pipeline work and reactive hiring demands. Some days you’ll be running back-to-back interviews or building a sourcing strategy. Other days, a hiring manager will need an urgent brief turned around or a candidate issue resolved quickly. Flexibility is key.
What makes this rewarding
- Genuine volume and variety. You’ll recruit across sales. No two weeks look the same, and the pace keeps things sharp
- Real influence over process. You’re not just filling seats — you advise hiring managers, shape selection methods, and improve how recruitment works across the business
- International exposure. NGP operates across the UK, Europe, India, and the Middle East. You’ll work on roles across multiple geographies and cultures
- A business that’s growing. Rapid growth means consistent hiring demand, career progression opportunities, and the chance to build something rather than maintain it
What’s in it for you
- £35,000 + Commission
- 23 days holiday + additional December leave + bank holidays
- Pension and access to Simplyhealth (money towards dental care, eyesight checks, physio, etc.)
Your first 90 days
- Weeks 1–3: Structured induction into NGP’s recruitment function, systems, and processes. You’ll meet hiring managers across the business, shadow live recruitment activity, and get to grips with how the team operates, the roles we hire for, and the tools we use
- Weeks 4–8: You’re picking up your own requisitions. Pipelines are building, interviews are in your diary, and hiring managers are coming to you directly. Your manager reviews your work regularly and coaches you through anything unfamiliar. You’re starting to identify what works and where processes can improve
- Weeks 9–12: You’re operating independently across your portfolio of roles. Hiring managers see you as their go-to recruitment partner. You’re delivering against hiring targets, contributing to process improvements, and your development priorities are taking shape
This is for you, if
- You have proven experience in a recruitment or talent acquisition role, ideally with exposure to volume hiring within a sales environment
- You have experience working in an internal talent acquisition function or are ready to transition from agency to in-house
- You have a solid understanding of full-cycle recruiting — from sourcing and screening through to offer management
- You are experienced with various interview formats including phone, structured, and group interviews
- You are familiar with Applicant Tracking Systems and CV databases
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook
- You have an excellent telephone manner and exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
- You are organised, methodical, and able to manage multiple vacancies and competing priorities simultaneously
- You have the confidence to advise and challenge hiring managers constructively
- You take a calm, level-headed approach under pressure — when things move fast, you stay structured and deliver
