We're looking for an experienced, innovative and technically driven Entertainments Technical Manager to lead our Technical Department at Potters Resorts, Hopton-on-Sea.
This is an exciting leadership opportunity at one of the UK's only Fully Inclusive Resorts, Potters Resort Hopton-on-Sea, responsible for delivering exceptional technical production standards across our entertainment venues and resort events.
As a key member of the Resort Management Team, you will lead a talented team of technical professionals, ensuring every production, event and guest experience is delivered safely, professionally and to the highest possible standard.
Working closely with the Group Technical Manager, Entertainment Leadership Team and Creative Show Producer, you'll oversee the resort's technical operation, maintain our production facilities and continually develop innovative technical solutions that enhance the guest experience.

Job Description
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the overall performance, development and success of the Technical Department. Working as part of the Resort Management Team, you'll lead the technical operation across the resort, ensuring every production, event and entertainment experience is delivered safely, professionally and to exceptional standards.
Key responsibilities include:

Leading, inspiring and developing a high-performing Tech Crew, creating a culture of professionalism, innovation and technical excellence.

Taking overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the Technical Department across all entertainment venues, productions and resort events.

Working closely with the Group Technical Manager, Entertainment Leadership Team and Creative Show Producer to deliver outstanding technical production standards and seamless guest experiences.

Overseeing the operation and maintenance of lighting, sound, AV, staging and show control systems, ensuring equipment is maintained to the highest standards.

Planning and supporting technical rehearsals, productions, special events and visiting acts, ensuring safe, efficient and professional delivery.

Managing preventative maintenance programmes, technical assets and equipment replacement plans to protect company investment and maintain operational reliability.

Leading Health & Safety within the department, ensuring compliance with legislation, risk assessments, safe systems of work and industry best practice.

Managing departmental budgets, labour deployment and technical resources to maximise efficiency whilst maintaining exceptional production standards.

Working collaboratively with departments across the resort to support entertainment, conferences, events and wider operational requirements.

Building strong relationships with contractors, suppliers and technical partners, ensuring all work is completed safely, professionally and to the highest standards.

Leading by example as a member of the Resort Leadership Team, supporting wider business initiatives and promoting a positive One Team culture.
Hours of Work
40–48 hours per week
This role requires flexibility and will include evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays in line with production schedules, entertainment programmes and business needs.
Skills & Experience
-
Proven experience leading technical, production or live entertainment teams within hospitality, theatres, resorts, cruise, events or similar environments.

Strong knowledge of professional lighting, sound, AV and theatre production systems.

Demonstrable experience managing technical operations, productions and live events.

Excellent leadership and people development skills, with the ability to coach and inspire high-performing teams.

Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Experience managing technical budgets, equipment maintenance and asset replacement programmes.
-
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure and respond quickly to operational challenges.

A thorough understanding of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices within live entertainment and technical environments.

Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings and weekends.
Qualifications
-
Technical Theatre, Live Events or Production qualification.
-
IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
-
First Aid qualification.
-
Working at Height and/or IPAF certification.
-
Experience within hotels, holiday parks, resorts, cruise operations or live entertainment venues.
