Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with recipes and quality standards
- Manage food production processes ensuring consistency and efficiency
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations
- Oversee food safety standards and maintain hygiene regulations within the kitchen
- Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating innovative culinary techniques
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely serving of dishes
- Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage inventory to minimise waste
- Train junior team members in food preparation, safety procedures, and service standards
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned regularly
Requirements
- Proven experience in food production, cooking, or hospitality roles; restaurant experience is highly desirable
- Supervising experience or leadership skills are advantageous for senior roles
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Team management skills with a collaborative approach to working within a busy environment
- Passion for culinary arts with a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes
- Good communication skills suitable for working effectively with team members and front-of-house staff
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as required by the business
