Camp Elite Ltd is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and confident Taekwondo Instructor to deliver engaging after-school Taekwondo sessions to pupils across both Key Stages.
The successful candidate should be able to introduce children to Taekwondo in a safe, structured and enjoyable way, while developing confidence, discipline, coordination, fitness, respect and self-control.
About the role
All session plans and required resources will be provided by Camp Elite Ltd. The instructor will be responsible for delivering each session effectively and adapting activities where necessary to meet the needs and abilities of the children attending.
Sessions should be energetic, inclusive and age-appropriate, with a strong emphasis on safe technique, discipline, respect and participation.
Key responsibilities
The Taekwondo Instructor will be expected to:
- Deliver planned Taekwondo sessions to children in KS1 and KS2.
- Demonstrate basic Taekwondo movements, techniques and skills clearly and safely.
- Lead suitable warm-ups, skill activities, partner exercises and cool-downs.
- Teach children appropriate techniques such as stances, blocks, punches and controlled kicks.
- Ensure all activities are appropriate for the children's age, experience and ability.
- Promote the principles of respect, discipline, confidence, focus and self-control.
- Ensure techniques are practised safely and that children understand appropriate boundaries.
- Maintain effective supervision throughout the session.
- Complete and maintain an accurate register of attendees.
- Carry out a risk assessment of the hall, classroom or activity space before each session.
- Follow Camp Elite Ltd's behaviour management system.
- Provide encouragement, praise and constructive feedback to all participants.
- Adapt activities so that children of different abilities can participate successfully.
- Leave the activity space clean, safe and organised at the end of the session.
- Report any accidents, incidents, safeguarding concerns or significant behaviour issues in line with Camp Elite procedures.
Essential qualities
We are looking for someone who is:
- Confident and competent in Taekwondo.
- Able to demonstrate techniques safely and accurately.
- Enthusiastic about introducing martial arts to children.
- Patient, encouraging and able to build positive relationships with pupils.
- Confident managing groups of children aged 4–12.
- Reliable, punctual and professional.
- Able to communicate instructions clearly.
- Committed to maintaining a safe and inclusive environment.
- Able to promote positive behaviour while maintaining appropriate discipline and boundaries.
Desirable qualifications and experience
Priority will be given to applicants who:
- Hold a Taekwondo black belt or equivalent recognised level of competency.
- Have experience teaching or coaching Taekwondo, martial arts or similar activities.
- Have previous experience working with children aged 4–12.
- Hold a current Enhanced DBS Certificate.
- Have completed safeguarding training.
- Hold a current First Aid qualification.
Applicants should be able to provide evidence of relevant qualifications or grading where applicable.

The successful applicant will be expected to:
- Follow all Camp Elite safeguarding procedures.
- Use only controlled, age-appropriate techniques during sessions.
- Ensure activities do not encourage inappropriate physical contact or uncontrolled sparring.
- Follow appropriate procedures for any partner or contact-based activities.
- Report safeguarding concerns promptly and appropriately.
Appointment may be subject to appropriate safeguarding and background checks, including an Enhanced DBS check where required.
