Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Legionella Risk Assessor to join our growing team. This role is focused on carrying out Legionella risk assessments across a wide range of commercial, industrial, healthcare, educational, and residential premises. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying Legionella risks, producing high-quality reports, and providing practical compliance advice to clients in accordance with ACOP L8 and HSG274 guidance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Legionella risk assessments on hot and cold-water systems in accordance with HSE ACOP L8 and HSG274 guidance.
- Survey and inspect water systems to identify actual and potential Legionella risks.
- Produce accurate and detailed risk assessment reports using company-approved software.
- Prepare and update schematic drawings of domestic water systems where required.
- Identify and prioritise remedial actions to achieve compliance and risk reduction.
- Provide clear and practical advice to clients regarding Legionella management responsibilities.
- Review previous assessments and monitor changes to water systems and usage.
- Maintain accurate records, photographs, and survey notes.
- Ensure assessment equipment is maintained and calibrated where applicable.
- Carry out vehicle, ladder, and equipment safety inspections.
- Work closely with colleagues to deliver a professional and customer-focused service.
- Maintain technical competence through ongoing CPD and industry training.

Hours of Work: 37.5 hrs per week (office hours)
Salary: £30,000 - £34,000 depending on experience
Ideal Candidate
- Recognised Legionella Risk Assessment qualification (City & Guilds, WMSoc, BOHS or equivalent).
- Minimum 2 years' experience conducting Legionella risk assessments.
- Sound knowledge of ACOP L8, HSG274, HTM 04-01 and associated guidance.
- Experience producing schematic drawings and technical reports.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong IT skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
