Bako Wales operate with a relatively small, committed team of less than 50 people, with everyone doing their part to help us deliver the excellent service our customers need. We are a co-operative, which means that our customers are also beneficiaries of our business profits.
Purpose:
To carry out deliveries of ambient, chilled and frozen products to our customers across Wales, Border Regions and Midlands. Due to the nature of the business, deliveries will predominately be to bakeries so shifts will start early between 00:30 and 06:00. Depending on your assigned route, this role will include a maximum of 2 nights out a week.

- Keep in regular communication with both customers and colleagues to update on progress and manage expectations effectively
- Drive in a safe and responsible manner, as we value the communities we service
- Be physically able to carry food goods up to 25kg’s to our customers ‘premises, taking care to protect their property.
- Keep the vehicle you use clean, tidy and well cared for, so it is ready to be used the next day
Due to the nature of the work heavy lifting is required. It is therefore essential that the successful applicant is capable to carry out this nature of work.
Person Specification:
- Previous customer service and commercial driving experience is desirable
- Passionate about delivering excellence
- Confident, engaging, polite and friendly
- Understanding, calm, professional and a team player
- Be smartly presented at all times and have excellent customer service skills and be detail focused
- Be able to provide a time critical delivery service in line with targets agreed with customers
- Good geographical knowledge
- Ability to work on your own initiative
Experience and Qualifications:
- You MUST hold a valid in date HGV driving licence
- You MUST have no more than 6 points on your licence
- 1 year of multi drop experience is desirable
- Previous customer service and commercial driving experience is desirable

- Be smartly presented at all times and have excellent customer service skills and be detail focused
- Be able to provide a time critical delivery service in line with targets agreed with customer
- Previous HGV experience is desirable although new drivers are welcome to apply
- Digital Tacho Card & full Driver CPC required. On going CPC training will be paid for by Bako Wales
