About the Role
We are looking for a proactive, organised and customer-focused Sales & Marketing Executive to join our team. This is a varied role that combines front-of-house showroom sales with the planning and delivery of Wignall’s marketing activities.
The successful candidate will be confident working independently, providing excellent customer service, managing showroom enquiries and sales, while also coordinating marketing campaigns across the Wignalls Group of Companies. No two days are the same, so you'll need to be able to prioritise your workload, work on your own initiative and switch confidently between customer-facing and marketing tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing
- Liaise with management team, the day-to-day marketing activities across the Wignalls Group of Companies.
- Plan and manage advertising campaigns across digital, print, radio and other relevant media.
- Create engaging content for websites, social media, email campaigns, promotional materials and window displays.
- Manage and grow the company's social media presence.
- Liaise with external agencies, publishers and advertising partners.
- Assist with graphic design, photography and the creation of marketing materials.
- Monitor the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and recommend improvements.
- Maintain brand consistency across all marketing channels.
Sales & Showroom
- Manage the showroom independently, welcoming customers and providing a professional, friendly service.
- Understand customers' requirements and provide product advice and quotations.
- Follow up enquiries and convert leads into sales.
- Process orders and maintain accurate customer records.
- Ensure the showroom is well presented and products are displayed to a high standard.
- Handle telephone and email enquiries professionally.
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys dealing with people, has a creative mindset and is equally comfortable speaking with customers as they are planning marketing campaigns.
You will have:
- Previous experience in a sales, marketing or customer-facing role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience using social media for business.
- Experience updating websites
- Strong written communication and content creation skills.
- Experience with digital editing and design software (such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva).
- An eye for detail and strong organisational skills.
- A positive, proactive and flexible approach to work.
Desirable
- Experience with graphic design and photography.
- Knowledge of digital marketing, SEO and online advertising.
- Experience working with print and traditional advertising.
- Photography equipment and experience creating marketing imagery.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence and own transport.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of the role.
- Confident using Microsoft Office and general business software.

Location & Working Arrangements
This role will be based primarily at our showroom in Newton Abbot town centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the showroom independently on a day-to-day basis, so confidence in working alone, taking initiative and providing excellent customer service is essential.
From time to time, flexibility will be required to provide cover or support at our Heathfield office, depending on business needs. A flexible and adaptable approach to working across both locations is therefore important.
Hours of work
Monday to Friday 10.00am to 4.00pm
with flexibility to cover absences, holidays etc when required
hourly rate £13.80 per hour
